Gabriel Schimmeroth is a curator and project coordinator at the Museum am Rothenbaum – Kulturen und Künste der Welt (MARKK) in Hamburg. He is responsible for the project “Zwischenraum – A Space Between”, which addresses the reorientation of the museum and experiments with new formats. Previously, Gabriel worked as a curatorial assistant at Ethnologisches Museum Berlin with a focus on provenance research. He holds a master's degree of the Global History programme from Freie Universität Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Gabriel's research interests reach from urban history and the history of transnational infrastructure projects to material culture, provenance research and the future of ethnographic museums.
