Book launch and signing of cooperation agreement at UPEA in El Alto, Bolivia

On 2 March 2023, Juliane Müller presented her book "El comercio popular globalizado. Mercado, reciprocidad y acumulación en los Andes bolivianos" at the Sociology Department of the Public University of El Alto (UPEA) in Bolivia. The publication is the result of research carried out by the author as member of the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at LMU Munich between 2013 and 2018. The book was commented on by the Aymara professors Pablo Mamani Ramírez and Tania Quilali, and the launch was attended by the authorities and students of the Sociology Department.

The event also served to sign an inter-institutional cooperation agreement between the ERC project "Indigeneities in the 21st century", represented and led by Philipp Schorch at LMU Munich, and the Sociology Department at UPEA, represented by David Ali Condori. The agreement will allow close collaboration between both institutions to present and promote research results that are being gathered jointly in the Aymara city of El Alto.

The TV report by the UPEA University channel features interviews and further information about the event and the cooperation agreement.
