He Toi Ora – A Living History. Connecting Carved Māori Treasures in the Museum Fünf Kontinente

As part of the research project Beyond the nature/culture devide: Reimagining human-environment relations in museums, curator Hilke Thode-Arora has taken a closer look at Māori artefacts in the collection of the Museum Fünf Kontinente in Munich. Her research Thinking through wood involved in-depth study of collection items, provenance research and consultation with experts, leading to this special exhibition.
