Markus Mailopus Tagebücher: Eine Geschichte interkultureller Begegnungen

This lecture is given in German language for students and staff of the German Language Study Program at Universitas Pattimura in Ambon. The lecture provides an introduction to the research project Markus Mailopu and the “II. Freiburg Moluccan Expedition” – Reassembling, reactivating, and redistributing anthropology’s interlocutors through the archive. In line with study program's curriculum and by closely examinig his diaries, the lecture explores how Markus Mailopu – growing up on the island of Seram, Maluku – made sense of his experiences when visiting Germany in 1912/13.
